Waffles, please!

We’ve been talking about getting a waffle maker for the longest time, so I finally got Robin one for Christmas. This one is from Severin, and comes with 3 interchangeable “plates” that allow you to make sandwiches, grill, and of course, make waffles! We tried it for the first time yesterday! *grin

We added whipped cream and maple syrup too, was really good! Look even little Robin is eyeing them…

happy holidays with love.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone’s having a great Christmas so far. Mine’s been nothing short of amazing, thanks to my dearest family and of course, Robin! :)

I will definitely blog more about Christmas but for now, I’ll leave you with a photo of my first attempt at egg nog. (Which actually turned out pretty well.)

Diced Tomatoes & Baguettes

If you read my blog last week, this might look familiar! I’ve received requests for the recipe of this very yummy dish, and here it is! Courtesy of the boyfriend.

1. Dice tomatoes, depending on how chunky you like your bites, if you prefer slices I reckon that would work too.

2. In a bowl, lightly toss diced tomatoes with salt, pepper and olive oil. We don’t use exact measurements so just taste as you go. You can also add in dried basil leaves. They sell these in bottles in the supermarket. (Optional)

3. Slice baguettes about 1.5-2cm thick.

4. In a pan on low heat, melt butter, then add the baguette slices, making sure the surface is covered with the melted butter. Do not let it burn! Do the same for the other side.

5. Spread a garlic & cheese spread on the pan-fried baguettes after they have cooled off abit. Pan-frying the baguettes actually keeps them crisp longer and adds to the flavour! (Think croutons!) We used Philadelphia’s Cream Cheese Light Garlic & Herb spread.

6. Dish up a spoonful of tomatoes and top the baguettes. Garnish with freshly chopped basil leaves. (Optional)

Reversed Roles

On friday, Robin and I “celebrated” our first month together, and boy did he cook up a feast. For two days he was being all sneaky, I have no idea how many trips he made to the supermarket… But dinner was soooooooooooooo yummy! :D

Baby please make this often, it’s utterly AMAZING. So the whole pan-fried bread was something I started. The bread really stays crunchy a lot longer as compared to toast. More yummy too! Now you know. :)

It’s the festive season so I’ve been pretty much working, working, working, and working. I felt a little bumped that I didn’t have time to do something special for Robin. I mean, usually the first month is a pretty big deal, right? In fact while he was cooking, I was sitting in the kitchen watching him cook while doing my work.

I felt really bad that he was busying himself so much, so I made him these fridge magnets!

Also bought him his favourite Kinder Beuno chocolate and german christmas stollen. I walked round Cold Storage like three times before I found it… Anyway, back to dinner, he also made carbonara! My favourite!

YUMMY! I had double of this :D

Poltrona Frau @ Scotts Square

We were at the grand opening of Poltrona Frau’s flagship store located in Scotts Square two weeks ago! We really felt like kids amongst the much older crowd… :/The master at work. All their sofas are handmade with so much love and attention. I’m in awe.Guess what Robin is so excited about? This bed below that costs $22k.Pretty neat huh? I have developed a major weakness for fur…. I really like these little flower vases, never seen any quite like these!

SIRI-ously.

Robin has been talking to Siri a lot since he got the iphone 4s yesterday. Thank god it’s only until he hands them over to his parents come year end. That’s not all he asks Siri…. He also asks Siri things like, “Are you gay?”, “Do you want to be my girlfriend?”……. I wonder what else he’s been asking Siri. xx

I need more weekends like these.

Spent the entire weekend with Robin and it made me so happy! Believe it or not, I didn’t cook any of these meals, Robin did. I’m a lucky lass with an amazing boyfriend. :)

friday’s lunch of steak and potatoes

I brought my mini Reversi set so we could play. Finally something I’m better than Robin at! (For now at least) He’s better than me at almost every other thing, games in particular. Mario kart, pool, monopoly deal… Pffffftttttt. He’s competitive even against his own girlfriend, I’m gonna get trashed at everything in time to come. :/

We had Pizza Hut for dinner two days in a row. Talk about being fast food junkies, but the rain made us really lazy…

Saturday afternoon’s lunch of bacon and scrambled eggs.

I have officially lost my boyfriend to a piano. He’s practically glued to it, and he’s learning pretty fast too. We tried learning a couple of songs but I reckon he’s gonna have more practice time than I can afford right now. Soon he’s going to be better than me music wise too. See, what did I say about getting trashed? Pfftttt. xx

Remember the post I did some time back in October about the new series American Horror Story on mioTV? Well if you missed the event, here’s a look at what went down that spooky evening! Ooooooooooooo~

 

Ghostly figures hung from trees, and tombstones were erected with names of the characters from the show. I get goosebumps just looking at the photos, imagine how it would have been in real life!

Spotted : The Latex Guy, also known as Rubber Man. You really have to watch the show to know!

Even cars got into the Halloween mood with bloody stick ons. And of course, FOOD! In true Halloween fashion. I spy finger hotdogs and eyes in the pasta…
