Finds For Friends : Customised Rings

Was working on a pair of these earlier for Charmaine. They’re BFF rings for her friend who is leaving to study overseas. Hopefully these rings will remind them both of their friendship, and that distance will not come in between them. :)

Bottlecap ring customisations are also very popular and make bolder, quirkier-looking accessories.

Food For Love.

Baby made us german pancakes for lunch on Saturday!

I would post the video of him doing dips in the kitchen in between making pancakes but I think he might kill me so I’ll skip that for now.

Time really flies when you’re having fun… In the blink of an eye, we’ve been together 3 weeks now, and I can safely say, I have no regrets. The drama we had to go through to be together was well worth it for what we have now, and for the future. December is right around the corner, and Robin will start university in just 2 weeks.. I need to start getting used to seeing him less and having less time to spend together. The thought of it is somewhat mood dampening cos we’re practically glued to each other, but we have to get through all this before we can be where we really want to be in life, and I know that we’ll be okay. :)

Ich liebe Dich, baby. xx

One Day.

I mentioned previously that I was reading the book , “One Day”, but upon hearing they were making a movie out of it, decided to put my reading on hold. I finally watched it with Robin a couple days ago and I have to admit, my sister was right. She said movies are hardly ever as good as the books, spot on. The movie pales in comparison to the book, it seemed like the story line was just going to and fro for years, only to end in a tragic way…

That said, I’m pretty sure I will enjoy reading the book more than I enjoyed watching the movie as I’ll be able to indulge in all the nitty gritty details.

Side tracking, it’s been such a hectic week and I’m expecting an even more hectic week ahead, but I’m just gonna try to soak up what’s left of Sunday.

Some new pieces I’ve been working on that will be up in store later this week. :)

Have a great Sunday all! xx

we found love in a hopeless place

Photo of the moment with baby at Capella!

Finally managed to catch up with Jones yesterday evening. Last minute, impromptu meeting cos we were headed to Harbourfront for dinner before going to Capella anyways. Had a very enjoyable dinner at Brotzeit with the boys, and Robin finally got to meet some of the people I hang out with. :)

Robin’s been trying to keep up with my waking hours. Sometimes I sleep at 3am and by 930am I’m awake and working again, he tries to wake up at 830am but ends up either falling asleep again or complaining the rest of the day. Hahahaha really funny. Last night he decided to record a voice note I could use as my alarm..

Now I have him waking me up every morning. Amazing! xx

Christmas is just around the corner, and along with festive cheer comes the much dreaded gift-giving dilemma!

Customised gifts make for a more personal touch, they’re also much more appreciated than regular store bought gifts. Here are just some examples of what can be done. This lot features names and icons that represent what each person likes or can relate to.

Saturday Night TV Dinners

We decided to head home to make dinner after doing some shopping in town. (Okay, it was more so just me shopping.)  Deliberating between steak and burgers, we finally settled on burgers while grocery shopping. They turned out pretty good actually, I cooked the beef patties with red wine……. Confession, it was my first time ever making a burger. (Now you know baby.)

Got cosy with the burgers and watched Bridesmaids. However I ran off halfway through the movie to make us some dessert. Rum-spiked bananas with vanilla ice cream. Yummmmm!

Also my first time trying this, hope it didn’t disappoint Robin & Gio. See, told you it was gonna be tough keeping us away from the kitchen, we’re already thinking of what to cook up next… xx

The Countdown to 2012

The past few weeks have been nothing short of crazy, but hey, we’re getting by just fine. In fact, I feel as if everything is back on track and things are (finally) going well again. With barely two months left of 2011, the countdown to 2012 begins, and I must say the year end plans sound really exciting.

I’m getting into spring cleaning early this year, I’ve been throwing out loads of stuff on a daily basis now. Hopefully, my room will be spick & span soon, out with the old and in with the new. Also, been trying to update my wardrobe so I got these from ASOS two days ago.

My dress for new years. Pretty sure I’ll be tempted to wear it even before new years… But I still need to find new shoes to match.

Since I’ve decided not to get bangs and let my fringe totally grow out, a headband to keep my hair in place, some days. I’m not allowed to cut my hair now cos Robin  likes my hair long, the most I’m allowed to cut off is 2cm. Maybe I’ll get away with 5cm? :/

Time is flying fast, and there are some things I can’t wait to get over and done with. Life is short, and I can’t live my life trying to please everyone around me. To each his own. xx

Breaking Language Barriers.

I’m really glad Robin speaks fluent English despite being German, but picking up a new language is always a good challenge so…. Why not? xx

The Men Women Need.

Pasta & steak dinner whipped up by Robin & Gio.

Last night over dinner we were talking about women needing men more than men needing women. You know how they say “Behind every successful man, there is a woman”? In this day & age, it is actually true to say that behind every successful woman is a man, too. I mean, why not? These days women tend to be more career-driven, and not all are willing to be bound to a daily domesticated lifestyle. Help from the boys is greatly appreciated in such situations. The kitchen doesn’t belong to the women anymore, these days guys are cooking too, some doing an even better job at it than us girls. Should we be intimidated?

I wouldn’t be. After all, one cooks and the other cleans, right? Sharing the chores, I’d like to think of it as spending quality time with each other. The kitchen is a great place to hold conversations while one cooks and the other does the cleaning. Tried & tested, it works like a charm. I have a feeling it’s gonna be pretty tough keeping us two out of the kitchen.

I had a pretty hectic day yesterday, what with preparing stock for consignment and getting the agreement signed. Trust me, having dinner prepared by your boyfriend after a grueling work day feels absolutely amazing. And since I couldn’t help with dinner, I bought everyone donuts! It was like feeding a bunch of little kids. :)

And that’s the boy, Robin. Never thought I’d meet someone who’d put a permanent smile on my face. I’m pretty sure I need him more than he needs me. You’re amazing baby. xx

everyday we’re brunching.

We made brunch on Saturday afternoon before baking cupcakes for Venice’s birthday! Also found a photo of Tramaine, Robin and I from last week’s birthday brunch at Sauce.

Always pimpin’ baby. xx

dinner for two.

The boy wanted to make me dinner, so we ended up making dinner together. The salad was his idea, I just threw in a couple things I can’t have salad without. Croutons & bacon bits.

I finally have someone to cook with; and I’m enjoying every second of it. A guy who wants to cook for me… I guess I could live with that. Thanks baby! xx

panda party.

remakes of the panda phone cosy $24 & wide-eyed panda earstuds $6

brunch @ sauce

Part 2 of Robin’s birthday celebrations! Brunch at Sauce! A great place to be at on a lazy Sunday afternoon… Or any other time of day for that matter.

Eggs Benedict. Awesome flavor but my eggs were over poached. I think I might have made a better Hollandaise the first time I tried, this one must have been left out for pretty long cos it wasn’t runny anymore. Never liked asparagus cos it’s so bitter, that still stands.

Smoked salmon. Robin had this, I haven’t tried. Don’t know why I didn’t but I will next time! Makes me want to run to the supermarket and buy a pack of smoked salmon, creme fraîche and table water crackers; I’m fine skipping the capers. Only problem is, it’s past 1am.

You cannot go to Sauce and not have Spam chips, seriously. These are addictive as hell. They’re $8 a bowl, pretty pricey for chips when a tin of spam probably only costs like what $2? Idk, but these are soooooooooo good. I’m actually craving these right now. xx

alles gute zum geburtstag!

The very happy birthday boy with his blown up bitch for the night…. That blown up doll got really popular. Not kidding.

  The all blacks.

Boyssssssssss.

The half cake from an earlier baby birthday party. The bartender really didn’t trust me with a knife. Times when coming from an f&b background doesn’t help.

The cat and the card, made by yours truly. :)

With greetings from the party crew!  xx

sponsored review : hada labo cleansing oil with high purity olive oil

I was surprised the first time I used this, it removes makeup really fast and washes off so clean, you don’t really need to use a cleanser after. This is unlike other oil-based cleansers I have used that leave a greasy residue after rinsing with water. It also removes waterproof mascara and eyeliners. Because you don’t need to use a cotton pad, it reduces the friction caused during cleansing, especially around the eye area where skin is more delicate. You don’t just get a good clean, with the Super Hyaluronic Acid, your skin is also left well moisturised!

See how it works! :)

I’m giving this cleanser two thumbs up! :)

Priced at $20.90, the cleansing oil is available exclusively at Watsons stores islandwide. xx

friday night.

I have two blog reviews due tomorrow, Butter tonight for Robin’s birthday and brunch at Sauce on Sunday before church. Either I finish both posts today or………. Actually, I don’t really have much of a choice now, do I?

Was trying to blog one of two reviews last night, but I ended up having a tad too much wine and I just wanted to go to bed. Been losing lots of sleep lately, and I know exactly who is to blame. :)

At least I finished his Arthur. xx
