stop aging in its tracks!

Hada Labo introduces a new lifting & firming range consisting of 5 new products that aim to restore youthful bounciness to your skin. With 3 potent ingredients, Vitamin A Retinol, Hydrolyzed Collagen & their signature ingredient, Super Hyaluronic Acid, you can now stop skin aging in its tracks.

I’ve been using the Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion for about two weeks now & I’m loving it. I was previously using the Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion. They both provide intense hydration, and creates the perfect base for makeup. No more scaly dry patches, yay!

I can’t say if it really reduces fine lines & wrinkles cos i’m still in my 20s & technically those undesirables shouldn’t be on my face yet, BUT! I’m pretty sure it does what it claims to do..

The Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion is of a slightly thicker consistency as compared to the SHA Hydrating Lotion. Notice how my skin appears significantly smoother after the lotion application? :)

But of course, if you’re not convinced, Hada Labo is more than willing to let you sample before you make a buying decision.

( click here to redeem your free sample! )

On Hada Labo’s Facebook page you will also find more information on their range of products and also tips for healthy, happy skin. They suggest patting chilled SHA moisturing lotion on the nose and cheek area to deal with large pores. Now that, I want to try.

If you’re wondering about value for money, I’m giving Hada Labo two thumbs up. You only need a drop or two for each application & the 170ml bottle will last you a pretty long time. For $25.90, what’s not to love?

Hada Labo’s Latest Lifting & Firming Range is available at all Watson’s stores.

a night in the park with neon trees

on monday eugene suddenly asked if i wanted to go to neon trees and immediately my whole to-do list flashed in my head like a pack of cards being shuffled mid-air. should i or should i not? i knew i really shouldn’t be running around with so much work waiting to be cleared after my short escape to KL, but i ended up getting another pair of tickets for free (perks of being a “blogger”) and all of us ended up going. eugene, jones, mimi & me. the usual suspects.

i must admit, it was a lot more enjoyable than the incubus concert in KL, not in terms of company but becos there was alcohol. mmhmmm! give us alchy & we’re happy. neon trees was really good live, power-packed vocals and they were very engaging.

i bet guys got turned on by elaine bradley on drums.. (photo stolen from nicole)

ahhhhh i was like a happy kid when they played animals, the sudden balloon drop added to the fun. watch the vid! (took this on my bb so don’t expect too much)

anyhoos, what i’ve been chomping on lately… i really need to lose a couple kilos. i told my mum two days ago that i need to eat less cos i’m putting on a disgusting amount of weight, she says it’s cos i cook too much. i can’t help it, when i make scrambled eggs, i use two eggs. one is like, so unsatisfying… :/

i’m still a size 6 but if i put on anymore weight i fear the day i have to fit myself into an 8 will actually come about. it’s dreadful.

i want more of that seafood bisque from saybons. it’s my favourite. the bratwurst was pretty good too :)

remnants of kl.

i guess that’s how it is. the only thing you’re left with is but a memory of fun times, nothing more. it’s the good things that don’t last. for now, i have these..

pop pops. josh says i have no childhood. try growing up with sisters who are 13 & 16 years older than you… they had a hell lot of fun throwing these things at me after i bought them. they’re supposedly illegal in singapore? lol

the kaya i bought from Yut Kee in KL. it’s just 4 ringgit a cup!

these things are awesome. they look boring on the outside but the insides are all sweet & gooey. i should have bought more of these, i’m depleting them way too fast. don’t think it’s the same brand my aunt usually brings back but, still good!

back home.

i got back from KL on sunday night & monday was just plain depressing. i had my favorite people with me for the trip so the experience couldn’t have been anything less than awesome. i did mention it was my very first trip out of singapore without my parents, right? it was quite a shock to everyone cos i am after all, already 26. i’ve lived a very protected life, (i blame it on being the youngest) shielded by my parents, living under their wings.. but my friends would know, i’m secretly “rebellious”.

this trip to KL really opened my eyes to a whole new world, come to think of it, calling it an awesome experience is still an understatement. this experience was long overdue, but i’m glad it finally came about. :)

and daddy no longer holds my passport.

i will blog about the trip proper soon, but meanwhile if you wanna check out my photos from the trip, they’re up on my facebook profile : { KL photos }

sidetracking from KL, just a random OTD : i’m totally digging the high-waisted shorts i got from the closet lover. the bag is from them too and it was perfect for the KL trip. the scallop top was from nicole, she got it for me during her recent trip to bkk, embellished cardigan is from miss selfrige.

i really hope i manage to get my mind back on track today, altho it’s gonna be a relatively short “work day” cos.. i’m going for Neon Trees at Fort Canning! much love & thanks to 8Flo Lifestyle for the tix :)

it’s a little past 3 & i should really go to bed now so… goodnight!

away notice

hi all! sorry for not blogging the past week… i’m fleeing to KL early tomorrow morning for the weekend so i have shitloads of work and errands to check off my to-do list.

*excites much

it’s the first time i’m going anywhere (out of singapore) without the folks. hahaha yes i’m that protected. i’ve grown wings and gotten a lot more garang, and now, it’s my time to start exploring the rest of the world in a different light. :)

fyi : i have my work email linked to my bb but.. i haven’t been out of town since i switched to a bb so i really don’t know how the 3g thing is gonna work out with the roaming charges and all. (i know i’m a noob, forgive me) anyhoos, i won’t be gone that long so if you don’t hear from me over the weekend with regards to orders and if i don’t reply your love letters, please wait till monday. ;)

xoxo

fancy pansies?

oh look what i found! :)

as worn by bluekismet’s model, this bouquet of “blood pansies” is but a single bouquet amongst other floral pieces out of the Perpetual Spring Collection on Jeanine Gabrielle.

this color is available by remake at $29.

i’ll be working on new colors soon enough! got a particular color you have in mind? drop me an email at jeanine@jeaninegabrielle.com & we’ll take it from there.

meanwhile, check out the Perpetual Spring Collection
for tons of pieces on sale! xoxo

been a fan for quite a while! loved ur pieces! I still have it with me and lots of peeps been praising its uniqueness. hope to meet someday !

awwwww thanks! who’s this and what did you get? would love to see a photo! :D

ask me anything, but please, keep it real.

Would you rather date a lot of different people, or be in a committed relationship?

thought i answered this already? :/

"the latter.
but then again, that’s assuming the right one comes along.
otherwise what’s there to commit to? right?"

ask me anything, but please, keep it real.

transatlanticism.

…this song, it haunts.

strawberries vs melons.

new (noob) nail art.

…i can’t quite decide if they’re strawberries or watermelons.. but then again, who cares right? lol. i’m not usually a nail art person… i do french manis myself too but these days, if i have time to repaint my nails every week it’s already an achievement. i just got really bored that day…

anyhoos, have a fab week everyone! i’m strapped into position and ready to launch into a mad a** week ahead. so many of my friends are back in town, which can only mean one thing, endless parties. let’s see how work and parties balance out this week. i sure hope i can collect my passport this week so everyone can gawk at my ugly photo… :/

the wristcutters

“…it only happens when it doesn’t matter. it comes without effort.”

a single line out of an entire 90 minute film, it hits you, and it sticks. it’s films like these that i really enjoy, and “the wristcutters” is one of my favorites.

( click here to watch the wristcutters on veoh )

for those who have never watched or heard of this film, please, go watch it. don’t worry, this film isn’t exactly pro-suicide. you never know what life has in store for you, but when it comes, don’t fight it.

…if it happens, it happens.

mugshots.

i finally got down to getting my photo taken yesterday so i can renew my passport. can you tell from my face how much i hate taking passport photos?

honestly, i’ve always hated going to the photo studio to get my photo taken when i was younger… “sit up straight! look up! tilt slightly lower, smile! no, smile less. hold it, urmmm abit to the left, no no to the right!” bullocks.

so i went to town and got it done in one of those photo booths. and me being me, while ben kept laughing at how fat my face was, i wasn’t satisfied so i did it again. according to him it looks the same, he’s actually right, but yea whatever.. i’d go to a photo booth over the studio any day… at least i can see what i look like before it’s printed.

..photo booths remind me of one of my favourite french films,  Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain. now if i could just remember where i put my dvd since i’m staying in to work tonight..

do you think you’ll ever date another DJ after ben?

honestly, i have no idea.
i mean, i don’t want to rule out the possibility entirely, but dating a DJ isn’t as "awesome" as people might think. there are a lot of things to deal with, it’s like an "emotional warfare"… so unless he’s fully grounded (emotionally), i’m leaning more towards a no.

it’s not just DJs, i guess people who are in the music/creative industry are "messed up" to a certain extent. (if you know what i mean, otherwise don’t try guessing.)

but then again, on a side note, the guys i’ve gone out with the past few years are mainly from this industry. (sad but true) :/

ebony & ivory

hope i have time to go down to topshop to get this black dress today… or maybe tomorrow.. i tried a size 10 cos that was the only one left at raffles. it’s hugeeee! so i got them to check for smaller sizes. the staff at raffles city were supposed to call me after they confirmed the reservation at ion but they haven’t called since monday? they better still have the dress! hmpfff :/

it might take a bit of getting used to tho, i’m hardly ever so prim & proper.. but i did buy this!

definitely packing this for KL. lol

nicole was wearing it the other day and i fell in love with it. been looking for something like that for like, forever and i finally got it! a tad pricey for $93 tho haha! shhhhhhh.

post-shopping food coma, mimi & i ordered 2 soups, 2 side dishes, and i had green curry with rice. talk about being hungry. (go imagine) anyway, try the watermelon & lime drink at thai express! it’s awesome! now i don’t know which i like more, this or the raspberry smoothie from dunkin’ donuts. hmmmm

summer is here.

i’ve had my eyes on that marc jacobs striped maxi since march, but never got it cos.. until today i still can’t justify spending $500 on a dress with a brand tag. honestly, i’m not that much of a “brand person”, the design is what matters most to me, and since my dear girls at the closet lover (which i used to model for) brought in an inspired piece at a fraction of the price, i decided to add it to my wardrobe for summer! :)

i don’t think i had anything this bright & cheery in my wardrobe, until now that is. it goes really well with the cropped denim jacket i bought from topshop recently, can’t wait to have some summer fun! :)

my bangs have grown out now, don’t think i’ll be wearing bangs for summer, so it’s back to the old me! xoxo

…and it feels like i’m alive

Love hurts
But sometimes it’s a good hurt
And it feels like I’m alive
Love sings
When it transcends the bad things
Have a heart and try me
‘Cause without love I won’t survive

…i can’t wait for KL

5am musings.

after butter on saturday // dim sum for 6 at 5am, this is what “drunks” do.

fear.

…when there’s a burning in your heart

When there’s a burning in your heart
An endless yearning in your heart
Build it bigger than the sun
Let it grow, let it grow
When there’s a burning in your heart
Don’t be alarmed

This fire grows higher.
