“food porn”

we were having dinner at din tai fung yesterday before going to catch rango… never expected a dinner to turn into the production of food porn… nicole had absolutely no idea that ed was taking a video of her enjoying her xiao long bao.

this, is what happens when a bunch of “mentally-corrupted” foodies get together.  featuring my mentally corrupted friends : jones, mimi, nicole, and of course, the one they call butter kid (ed).

and then, when it came down to the last xlb, ed totally sabo-ed me into doing this.. i was practically cramping up from laughing. told ed i was definitely gonna get abs if i keep laughing like that all the time… but yeaaaaaaa, here’s 4 mins 50 seconds worth of sheer amusement at my expense. enjoy! =)

and there you go nicole, now we’re even after your market squating photo… ed’s got a food blog of his own called cinnamonsin and since he’s doing up the post about din tai fung, i’ll just wait for it and link up when he’s done with it! hahaha i’m such a cheater! fyi, this party animal doesn’t just blog, he cooks too! be prepared to be amazed! haha

anyhoos, just for good measure, i fear such meals are going to turn into regular occurrences, so…. be warned.

♥ pugs not drugs

i got this tee from topshop on saturday! cute huh? the moment i saw it i thought of ed cos he’s got, a pug! and then i remembered he had a tee that reads “hugs not drugs” he actually wore that very shirt when we went out on saturday night. haha pouty face!

nicole made some new friends! okay, we all did. we were probably the only two crazy girls in fash who were trying to shuffle. (the rest were guys, obviously) so we probably drew quite abit of unnecessary attention to ourselves (as usual) but we didn’t really care, cos we came to have fun and we’ll have our fun!

i hope ed’s not gonna kill me for posting his dance vid. i should take cover after this… shawn and dave totally killed fash that night! jam session djays ftw!

and here we are at 4 in the morning… (fyi, nicole’s trying to be a pug) oh look we got matching tees!

and then we walked down to lau pa sat for supper cos everyone was hungry…. you can’t get more unhealthy than char kway teow at 5 in the morning… seriously!

i think this would very well explain why i loveeee my friends…

nicole, i love you. even though you dig your nose and do squats at 6am.

can’t wait to see my favourite people again tonight! nicole, jones, mimi, and of course, pouty face! dinner at din tai fung then movie time! i’m especially excited cos the last movie i watched was… mega mind. do you have any idea how long ago that was? i don’t know how i “abstained” from movies for so long..

Rock & Retail

the girls behind blogshop Rock & Retail recently got me to design their shop banner! i’ve never designed for anyone before so this was quite a challenge… i really like how it turned out!

they’re currently still working on a new self-manuafactured range if i’m not wrong but do check them out and bookmark the page. i’ll probably update again once their new collection is launched :)

strawberry bits in every bite!

my parents went off to ritz for an overnight “vacation” yesterday so i was left all alone with no clue about what was in the fridge/freezer. was too busy anyways, so i made strawberry pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs! wished i had whipped cream, i should really buy a can, you never know when you’ll need it!

wanted to try something other than good ol’ maple syrup, so i heated condensed milk, milk, butter and a weeee bit of honey for the “sauce”. not the best substitute for whipped cream but it was alright! still wish i had whipped cream tho. pfffffttttt. i should really grocery shop more… mummy doesn’t buy things that i would use… like, cream cheese for pies, whipped cream for pancakes, heavy cream for sauces, and more cheeses for mac & cheese!

but i’m glad the pancakes turned out nice and fluffy! +brownie points!

something to tweet about!

tweet tweet! i know i’ve been missing from my blog for quite awhile, but i’m back! (hopefully daily again.) anyhoooos, i’ve unprotected my tweets so everyone can see when i add new items on facebook or post design updates.

and basically, welcome to my life.

it’s 2am now and my eyes are probably gonna snap shut soon but here are a couple of sneaks of new stuff i’ll be uploading to the store later today!

i’ve got a thing for polka dots these days, they’re just so cute!

i feel very backlogged on work, and everything else. it’s like i have so much to settle and yet, i have no idea where to start. i need a break, i need to restart, i’m so tired… i don’t really want to live like this anymore…

mosaic over the weekend was fab by the way. and the fund raising event at blu jaz earlier in the week was a real eye opener. it was so heart warming to see so many people come together for a good cause… the event raised $76,000 by the way. guess i’ll leave the photos for a separate post sometime later in the week when i’ve cleared more of my workload.

i’m gonna dive into bed now (which really means in the next hour) … goodnight!

mummy’s sweet potatoes

two days ago after making custard, my mum pulled out a bag of 3 sweet potatoes she bought 2 weeks ago. she was too busy with chores and watching korean dramas so i decided to give her good old recipe a go!

they came out great for my first try, and no assistance from mummy. tasted pretty much like hers too! basically, it’s just sweet potato, fried with onions and sugar (and water of course!) i know onions and sweet potato may sound weird but trust me, when the onions caramelizes with the sugar, it just tastes soooo good!

i’m surfing through tons of baking recipes right now, i hope i manage to settle on one soon cos i’m itching to bake! hope everyone’s having a fab weekend! i’m really excited about getting a haircut at Bonafides on monday! =)

this would be my second time in JUICE! such a happy bunny! the first time was for Cirque Berserk  during Halloween last year. this time it’s for Fash Mob which I did in January, also at The Butter Factory. which I still have yet to blog about! I’m terrible I know… but i’ll try to do it soon-ish. promise!

I woke up thinking it’s saturday.

these came by courier yesterday afternoon!

will be trying them out for a month before i review them, thanks to thesamplestore.sg!

…i swear the weekend hit me a tad too early.

my parents usually go marketing on saturdays, but they went this morning. i was lying in bed scrolling through twitter and saw a tweet that said “bad bad saturday”.  for awhile i was asking myself if it was friday or saturday.

but this is tonight! which means, it’s friday no doubt!

Applebee’s @ TripleOne Somerset

I checked out applebee’s at tripleone somerset with mimi on sunday after a-mod’s lil “party”. it was kinda quiet when we got there despite it being dinner time.. within like 2 minutes of us going through the menu, this waitress comes up to me and asks “may i know where you got your boots? i noticed them the moment you walked in!”

and you think people don’t check out what you’re wearing. think again. she was like the 3rd or 4th person who asked about my boots that day. just in case anyone’s wondering, the boots i was wearing were from Earl Grey Party. (they don’t have it anymore tho)

anyhooooos, on to dinner.

i ordered the french dip sliders, mimi had the appetiser sampler.

loved the french dip sliders, tho they were kinda pricy. i can’t remember if it was $15 or $19 for three sliders, only consolation is that the sliced beef in it was really good and the fries were awesome.

the buffalo wings really disappointed. they tasted more tangy than anything else, and the meat was really dry. the shrimp was okay (i can’t remember what it’s called tho) and the taco thing was just alright, not fantastic, nothing much to brag about. i would have considered trying the steak if it didn’t cost $40… thank god i didn’t cos i checked out some reviews online and most of them were pretty bad. the service was alright tho, and certain drinks like soft drinks are refillable. but seriously, how much coke can you drink with one meal?

would i go back? well, maybe if i’m in the area and can’t find other places to eat at… otherwise, i’d go to ministry of steak if i wanted good and affordable steak, and overeasy if i wanted sliders, anyday.

APPLEBEE’S gets ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ out of 10 ♡s!
