Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

To all of you who have been following this blog since I started it in 2008, thank you for sticking with me! 2010 has been a really rough year to say the least, and I’m pretty glad it’s finally come to an end. I have hopes for 2011 to bring bigger and better things for everyone.

Year end is a time when we all start thinking about what we’ve done with the past 365 days of our lives. For some, the result is satisfaction from goal achievements, for others, perhaps, disappointment in things and plans that went wrong or fell apart. Whichever it is, I believe we’ll all learn from experience and resolve to not make the same mistakes in the new year ahead. Remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So whip out those schedule books and get productive. I’m gonna get me a Moleskine and start penning in plans over dinner.

Here’s a little “motivation/reminder” for all of you. Feel free to save the image and use it as a wallpaper or whatever you fancy… We all need little reminders sometimes… =)

Everyone should be busy partying and celebrating this weekend, I reckon that’s what I’ll be doing today at least, so enjoy the weekend, and I’ll catch all of you in the new year!

Hard Rockin’ at Hard Rock Cafe!

Usher in 2011 with the 1 or 8 Faction Crew!

See ya’ll at the party tonight!

Merry Christmas Lovesss!

I know! I’m late! But Merry Christmas ya’ll! After all, there are 12 days of Christmas right? =)

Hope everyone’s been good and having fun! I’ve been pretty busy, which explains why I haven’t updated the blog in the longest time.. Is everyone getting nice pressies? I got myself tons of presents this year… here’s just a couple :/

I got myself a new wallet to replace my Juicy Couture wallet. This is my first Kate Spade and I love it! I got myself a new “cup” too. It’s really pretty, and my sister wants it too. And I love my new polka dot pink lap desk! It comes in really useful when I’m feeling lazy and want to work in bed… In fact, it pretty much glues me to bed…

I’ve got really exciting news!

For those of you who frequent The Butter Factory, you would have heard of a night called Fash Mob. Well guess what? Come January 15th, I’ll be Fash Mob-ing! It’s gonna be a poker party with a hint of Alice In Wonderland… More details to come in the days/weeks ahead. I have 2 weeks to prepare for it, and I’m really psyched! =)

Till I manage to squeeze in my next update, have fun everyone! A new year is right around the bend!

Radiance… The New Fragrance by Britney Spears

I was one of ten lucky girls who got to try Britney’s latest fragrance, Radiance even before it hit the stores and I’ve been wearing the fragrance every time I’ve been out since I got it! :)

Radiance is a feminine blend of red berries, delicate flower petals and soft musk. I find the scent really alluring, definitely in love with the sweet aroma, it makes me happy somehow! The scent seems to be stronger than other fragrances I’ve used, so it lingers longer. I love how my room smells of Radiance! It’s almost like being in candy land…

The bottle is an absolute darling, it’s bold yet girly with faux raised gemstones. This is one bottle I will definitely keep even when I’ve finished the perfume.

bYSI’s Exclusive Bloggers Tea Party @ ION

Recently, I was invited to bYSI’s exclusive bloggers tea party at their store at ION Orchard. Cupcakes, tea, sweets, and I ran into a few familiar faces, it was a fun filled Sunday afternoon to say the least… :)

We were shown how a black dress could create multiple looks for different occasions.

The stylists present were really nice! I had fun playing dress up in the store, and with the stylists constantly helping me with picking pieces and sharing their expertise, it made me feel more confident about what I was buying for sure!

Here’s one of my buys, a long maxi dress. It’s really soft and comfy and even has side pockets!

I also got a countryside vintage style floral dress, (which I have since cut off about 10cm from) Photo of the modification soon enough!

The third dress I settled on is a little more dressy… It might just be my christmas dress… It’s a little loose cos it was the last piece in size medium, but I loved it so much I just had to grab it regardless!

And this is Mimi who tagged along with me for the party! She picked out quite a number of pieces as well, this super cute polka dot top being one of them :)

Thanks to the team at bYSI, Mimi and I definitely had tons of fashionista fun along with the other bloggers. Definitely looking forward to seeing new items in store, perhaps another tea party?

New In Store at Jeanine Gabrielle

hey girls! it’s year end and while everyone is busy spring cleaning their homes, i’m also trying to tidy up the store! i’m moving pieces to the sale page to make way for new designs, and here’s what’s new!

there are tons more just waiting to be photographed and added to the store so check back daily for new items! i’m gonna go get busy now, but before i do… i’m trying to change the store navigation (YES AGAIN!) cos i’m adding new “departments” to the store like home deco items and paper goods.

Right now, it looks something like that… I’m going minimalist, but I’m sure as I go along it’s gonna change somehow… this is the main page. should i keep the music? or would you girls rather shop with your own music?

Let me know what you think should change, what else you want to see in 2011, etc… Your inputs will be taken seriously and would be greatly appreciated! :)

Jeanine Wears Lady Ayn Rose…

Remember the post I did on Lady Ayn Rose some time ago?

I mentioned a tulle skirt that I got and this is it! I paired it with a simple fitted white tank from cotton on and it created this “colorblock” look. It looks almost like a dress actually! Love the tulle inner, makes me feel like the ballerina I never was…

Wish I took better photos but things have been pretty hectic and it doesn’t quite cross my mind to pose for photos when I’m out these days… Nonetheless, thank you Lady Ayn Rose for the pretty skirt! I tweeted it the day I wore it and got lots of positive feedback!

For all you girls, Rose is kindly offering an exclusive 10% discount on your purchase just by mentioning my name when ordering! =)

PS : Check out the nerd looks she digs,

i know I’m totally digging this! ♥

Je Manque…

…et vous? le manquez aussi?

Year End with ClubCouture!

This is way overdue, but so much has cropped up the past few weeks… I’ve been busy with year end customs most of the time. Last weekend I was busy with a bloggers party and had to cut short my Sunday plans cos Baileys (my bunny) was refusing to eat and was just lying down all day… Everyone got really nervous cos he’s usually so hyperactive, so something was definitely wrong. I’ll leave that for another post tho!

Meanwhile!

If you haven’t already visited the ClubCouture site, they’ve launched a new collection called “The Good Earth”. Yup, no loud colors in this collection but earthly hues… The collection features a couple of knit pieces, perfect for year end even in Singapore as the weather gets wet and cold.

I’ve picked out a couple of my favourite pieces that I feel every wardrobe should have, and since it’s the year end, and year end we party…

Here’s the puuuurrfect little black dress!

Strapless chiffon layered dress $79

I like how the top is fitted to accentuate the bust, and paired with a drapey asymmetrical skirt to show off those legs. Reminds me quite abit of a tuxedo actually. You might want to try the Miu Miu collar accessory with this… It might just work!

For all you jetsetters,

I think these would be great to pack into your suitcase!

The Dark Grey Linen Palazzo ($59) is definitely a comfy piece to put on… Paired with a long sleeve knit top as shown, it creates a very laid back look but you can take it up a notch by pairing it with a neat white tank top and a pair of pretty wedges.

The Ruched Strapless Romper ($49) is another versatile piece. Wear it with the Camel Swing Cardigan ($59) and Laurie Feodra ($29) and you’ll be all set for a day out. Thanks to it’s very unique ruched detail, the romper is made more dressy so come night time just lose the cardi and you’re ready to party!

Speaking of which, look who got caught with champagne bubbly in one hand and camera in the other at the Lauren Jasmine launch at Pacific Plaza recently…

That’s my second plaid shirt from ClubCouture… (It’s sold out tho!) I’m so hooked on plaids, but I think I’ve got just the right amount of plaid in my wardrobe now.

This was my first plaid shirt from clubcouture!

This photo was from a photoshoot all 7 Ambassadors did a year ago. Yup, it’s been a year… which makes this possibly my last post as fashion ambassador for ClubCouture.

What can I say, Thank You ClubCouture,

it’s been a great fashionista year :)

Don’t forget to use the discount code “JEANINE15″ to enjoy 15% off your entire purchase (while it lasts)

much love, jean

Bunny Trouble!

This little rascal cost me quite a bunch of nerves last weekend!

So it was Sunday and I was attending bYSI’s exclusive bloggers’ tea party at ION Orchard when I got a text from daddy saying Baileys isn’t eating, drinking or moving around. My heart dropped, and I didn’t know what to do… He’s usually the hyperactive, noise making, scampering bunny. For him to be just sitting or lying around, wasn’t a good thing.

So I had to scrap dinner plans I made earlier, rushed down to church for mass and then made a mad rush home to make sure he was still well, alive…

I got nervous opening the main door, hoping to see him get up like he usually does when I come home, but nope, he just lifted his head slightly before going back down… It was Sunday, no vets were still open, so I put him out in the playpen while we had dinner. He still wasn’t moving much so we scooted off to Pet Lover’s at Northpoint to see if they could do anything… He seemed fine in the car tho, he kept sticking his head out of his carrier…

No verdict, just possibilities. Maybe his teeth were too long, maybe he had a furball… He got his nails cut tho… At least it wasn’t exactly a wasted trip. He got a little better when we got home. I sat with him in the playpen trying to force feed him with some “stress pack formula” and managed to feed him some vege leaves.

Monday, contemplated taking him to the vet, but he seemed to be getting better. He started pooping but it was runny, I know you’re supposed to consider runny bunny poo an emergency but it was a risk I took to wait it out abit longer. We managed to get him to eat more vege leaves and I managed to get him to eat pineapple. I googled a lot and pineapple was a possible “cure”.

And guess what? He took a nap and within an hour of eating the pineapple, poop appeared!!! Not runny poooo! It was smaller than usual but it was a good sign. I’m glad I didn’t go to the vets, it would have cost me at least $100 straight up.

Next day he was back to normal, although still being picky with his food, but he was back to running and jumping around. It’s been a week and he’s back to his old mischievous self again!

Thanks to everyone who read my tweets and showed so much concern for Baileys, he sends his bunny cuteness and ! =)

♥, jean
