I Heart My Monsters…

it’s 2am, i’m sleepy, i should be sleeping, but ben’s still working. how many people have their boyfriends still working at 2am in the morning? well i do, and that’s how it’s been for the past (almost) two years. well 22 months tomorrow to be more precise. i used to follow him to almost every gig he played at, but gosh, i’m turning 25 TOMORROW, and i just can’t quite keep up with the hectic night life…

decided to give China One a miss cos i’ve got tons to do. or maybe it’s just cos i’m still refusing to accept the fact that i’m turning 25…

at least i finished my flats tho…

they’re so cute that i don’t know if i can bear to wear them… i love the colors! i’m so tempted to grab a few more pairs and just paint them all day…

i also made another customised ring!

this is a gift from a guy to a girl… SWEEET! keep it up boys! :)

i added lots of stuff to the website earlier… bracelets, necklaces, rings… so go see! i’ll try to update again later in the day cos right now i’m totally struggling to keep my eyes open… ben’s gonna nag if he knows i’m still up.

tee-you-yee-ass-day

earlier on i suddenly had the urge to do something about all the shoes i’m not wearing… realised i have like 5 pairs of ballet flats that i haven’t touched in ages, 3 are from Rubi, one from Guess and the other is from Sam Edelman.

so this pair of white ones from Rubi, i swear i only wore them once at most… and they’ve been chucked in the cupboard since the last i wore them… they looked so dead and boring (i started wondering why i bought them in the first place..) so i decided to give them a new lease of life!

they’re nice monsters! i added some blank speech bubbles and random splats… what do monsters talk about anyway? i’m not entirely done with the design, but it’s shaping up nicely i reckon. now i have reason to wear these white flats! i do hope i can wear them, they’re a size 38 and recently i’ve been getting heels in size 39 and they fit better… this pair squishes my toes abit…

ben is always teasing about how big my feet are.. i know, for someone who’s only 1.6m tall, size 39 feet are pretty out of proportion? :S

anyway, my right thumb has been hurting quite abit since yesterday, and i really have no idea why! it just really hurts when i move it in a certain direction.. i can’t even hold a pair of scissors without it hurting… so sewing has been quite a challenge… but that didn’t stop me! i sewed 2 phone cosies today…

oh well, i guess i’ve done enough sewing for today, maybe even for this week…. 3 days till i turn 25, i’m actually getting a little jumpy. how come no one has asked me what cake i want? do i always have to order my own cake??? -_-

i was supposed to have dinner with ben at popeyes today, he promised. butttt, thanks to the army, promises always get broken. which is why i say, someone needs to pen a survival guide for girls who have boyfriends in the army. seriously…

this retails for USD$22 on Amazon, i think Benefit has discontinued this product, but it has definitely been retired with a bag of awesome reviews in the bag!

Yoo Hoo is a rose nude, but if you put it on really thick, it’s more of a bronze. if you want it subtle, i’d suggest putting it on your finger and applying it to your lips like you would with lip balm for a sheer wash of color.

Where To Eat? : The Handburger

okay this post is WAYYYYY OVERDUE. i’m sorry. i just haven’t been in a “blogging mood” lately, but i’ll leave the explanation for later…

if you like burgers like i do (so does ben) then you will absolutely LOVEEEEEEE

THE HANDBURGER at 313 @ Somerset

for starters, i love the whole ambience, the menu, the artsy fartsy everything… and gosh, they have uber cute cupcakes on the menu for all you sweet tooths… being there feels a little old school, cos of how the benches and tables are arranged, it’s almost like being back in the school tuckshop!

the beef patties are to die for! really, i’ve tried the burgers at The Ritz Carlton, and if you compare price and quality, gosh, i’ll have a handburger anyday, EVERYDAY!

look how tender the meat is! it just crumbles in your mouth, and it really tastes like how a beef patty should. i don’t know how to explain it, you’ll know what i mean when you try it for yourself… they’ve got a couple of interesting dips like sweet chilli kaffir lime aioli, herb tomato, spicy tartare just to name a few… so don’t expect anything ordinary!

the buns are really yummy, the ones we had were caramelised onion buns. and for once, i actually ate all the greens that came in the burger. becos they really are green and so fresh!

the prices are reasonable, starting at $7.80 for a basic burger. there are a couple of add-on options too, so you can build your own burger however you like! they get quite crowded during peak hours, but it’s definitely worth the wait!

in fact, we’re thinking of going there for my birthday!

as most of you would know, i’ve been sick the entire first week of may, and still not exactly in tip top shape this week…

so… i haven’t exactly gone out very much in. plus, the weather has been absolutely crazy hot! but that’s no excuse not to have fun, right? okay, being sick isn’t very much fun, but i’m glad i was able to keep comfy in these tank tops! i love their cropped length, they go fab with my harem pants! perfect for lounging around at home or heading to the mall. i’ll go pretty much anywhere in these actually…
