Happy Teeth!

so i had a date with my favourite dentist yesterday… i was really scared at first cos previously i was told by my orthodontist that i needed a root canal. but, i escaped the root canal! make sure you ask for a second opinion and alternatives. you never know if your dentist is just trying to get more $$$ out of you.

so i ended up just getting two teeth filled. he did such a fab job that ben couldn’t even figure out which two teeth got filled!

believe it or not, the second molar is 75% filling. it was totally broken and there was a “pit”. somehow braces killed my molars. i had the molar on the left side extracted about 2 years ago… so people with braces, please watch those molars! the ones that got affected were the ones which had the metal band around it the whole while… (3 years!)

cost for two fillings, $160. well worth it considering i almost had to pay $800 to do a root canal? and then i would have had to do a crown on that tooth! estimated total damage? i’m guessing close to $2k and alot of pain.. for one molar? NO WAY.

speaking of pain, i felt none whatsoever. immediately after the numbness wore off, i was eating a swanky franky at botak jones and drinking coke! and you know how you’d go to bed and wake up with that throbbing feeling after your teeth get drilled into? i woke up feeling better than ever! i was soooo glad! it’s like i never went to the dentist. he’s very focused when he’s working on your teeth so you can expect 100% attention. unlike alot of female dentists who are chit-chattering with the nurses 80% of the time with a drill in your mouth.

so remember, if you’re looking for an awesome dentist,

Look for Dr Ian Teoh! :)

visits to the dentist don’t always have to be dreadful!

28th april 225am update :

the problem has been solved! YAY!

if any of you are still experiencing trouble with accessing the store, please let me know! :)

love, jean

i’m experiencing some technical issues with my website (jeaninegabrielle.com) for some reason, the page just refuses to load! i’m hoping the problem gets fixed soon, otherwise yahoo is gonna be in for a lot of complains from me!

i’m actually thinking of doing a revamp before my 25th birthday… clean up the site and change the look abit… any thoughts on this?

love the artsy fartsy style.. please leave your inputs, i’d love to gather as much feedback as possible before i go ahead with the revamp… and while technology is testing my patience, i did get some work done today… this one’s for Cherlyn! :)

anyhoos, that’ll be all from me for today. i’m feeling quite bumped becos of the website issue…

got a date with my favourite dentist, Ian tomorrow!

not sure if i’m actually looking forward to it but oh well, who can escape a visit to the dentist’s office every once in awhile? grrrrrrr. hope everyone had a better start to the week than i did! :S

Where To Eat? : Charly T’s

Good day everyone. This is the Zushan speaking. Once in a while, I will jump in and do some blogging of my own, so the piglet asked me to do a review on a place I picked out and brought both of us down to eat.

So it was after watching the movie Kick Ass, which happened to be a pretty good movie, we headed down to Charly T’s down the road, in between Plaza Singapura and The Cathay, near the stairway to Mount Sophia. I had read up on Charly T’s on a magazine and was very curious about the place. I walked past it a few times and never really looked in closely at the place.

Upon first entering, the place had a really nice aura. The music was very soothing, had a very nice cosy coffee/eating house feel. The red furniture and nice tables made me feel comfortable already before even settling down. It was order time, and upon first reaching the counter was the mouth-watering sight of Rotisserie Chickens roasting right in front of my very eyes. It was their speciality. The piglet and I shared a Rotisserie Chicken set which consists of 3 side dishes, a soup and a drink.

Main Dish: Half Rotisserie Chicken

Side Dish 1: Roasted Potatoes

Side Dish 2: Macaroni & Cheese

Side Dish 3: Garden Veggies

The set came with 3 sauces as well, one sweet, one sour and one spicy. The sweet sauce was Kampong Amber with Roasted Peanuts. The sour one which the piglet liked was Ginger & Lemon Japanese Soy. And I can’t really remember what the spicy sauce was but I liked it, because I like spicy stuff anyways.

The chicken you wouldn’t expect to be of Kenny Rogers style, with crazy awesome black pepper skin, but the chicken was fresh Kampong Chicken and you could really taste the difference. All in all I wasn’t so fascinated by the sides, but the soup was a nice Slow Simmered Chicken Soup, which had nice chunks of chicken in it.

There are much more we have yet to try.

If you’d like to know more about the place, the menu or the location, visit the website at http://www.charlyts.com

Till then, enjoy folks!

Signing off,

The Zu

Advertorial : Little Miss Organised.

you have to leave home in a hurry, but you need a bag change cos the bag you used yesterday doesn’t match today’s outfit… so you throw everything into today’s bag and run out of the house… the next thing you know, you’re digging for your pen, your ipod, your phone, the other side of your earrings… and you start wondering how many things fell onto your bed instead.

frustrating ain’t it?

which is why someone invented Bag Organisers! what would we do without them?

sure, most bags have phone compartments, but that’s not enough for a bag girl…

date book, check. pens, check. wet tissues, check. blackberry, check. ipod, check. ear piece, check. shades, check!

you’ll know exactly where everything is from a bird’s eye view!

bag organisers makes switching bags a breeze! just take the whole thing out of yesterday’s bag and plonk it into today’s! you won’t miss out any small items anymore, and it saves alot of time as compared to transferring one item at a time.

unlike most bag organisers i have seen that are built in a rectangular shape, this particular bag organiser from XQUISIS is “freeform”, so it’ll fit any bag shape and size. making it perfect for those bucket bags. plus, it’s slim and practically weightless, but oh so functional!

it’s got a whole lot of different slots for pens, note books, etc.

a flap compartment to stash your girly necessities,

or a change of accessories for the night’s party!

this bag organiser is available at XQUISIS for just $10.90.

i’m also in love with all the shoes that they bring in!

i got a pair of the “Jolie Velvet Heels” which i wore for the Globetrotter music video shoot!

these Louboutin inspired heels even spot the signature red base! get them for a very affordable price of $26.90!

Preorder for heels and flats at Xquisis open till 30th April! (I’m already eyeing about 3 pairs myself…)

don’t forget to make use of the FREE SHIPPING deal! :)

Making a Music Video Day 1

i am soooo glad the shoots are over (for now)

monday morning was insane. (and i mean last monday the 12th) really. firstly, i woke up about half an hour late, so it was a mad rush from the start…. when we got to NYU, barely 10 mins later i was sent out to run errands. thank god Yama drove!

we had to go to redhill market to get hangers, fruits, safety pins… i can’t really remember what else. my brain was still half asleep. lol!

okay back to the studio, monday we did MONEY IN MY POCKET, and we had two hot cars as eye candy for the day!

a lambo and a bentley!

ever seen it from the top?

this is Taisuke btw, aka Monkey King.

and i got to drive the Bentley!

okay, fine. i didn’t drive it. just sat in it. but hey, not everyone gets the chance to sit in one of these! :)

Barun was in the monkey suit all the way… poor fella. it was a SWEAT SUIT really! everytime he took off the monkey head he’ll be dripping like a tap! if it were me i would have passed out i swear… good job monkey!

i snagged a free cap which is too big for my tiny head. thanks to the people from SUP CLOTHING!

one of the favourite photos of the day…

anyway, those are just a tiny fraction of all the photos we took on monday, the rest is on facebook so go check them out! i’ll get to tuesday’s shoot later! cos i’m gonna hit the sack! (i’m way past bedtime, AGAIN. no surprise…)

Still at it…

i’ve been working on more customisations…

i’m in love with this rock ring. i might just put it up on the site for sale… seconds anyone?

and, the rest of Maggie’s order!

i also put together some new earstuds…

the mini cameo ones are going for $8 a pair. these super cuties came in all the way from UK! (very limited stock)

and the silver pyramids are $5 a pair. these are pretty small, they measure 0.7cm. (small enough for school right?)

…and a new necklace!

all petals are individually cut from red felt and sewn together, each has a glass beaded centre. this took me a good couple of hours to put together…

if you’re ready to make a fashion statement, grab the blood pansies necklace for $39.

Buttered Nights…

i think last wednesday was the most fun i’ve ever had at Butter… ben said, “this is the first time i didn’t see you around the whole night” well, true that, i was running all over the place and i counted, throughout the entire night, i got hit THREE TIMES by drunk people… the last one being the worse. some big guy getting thrown out by the bouncer and he hit my arm while struggling. oh well!

PHOTOS! ♥

for the first time i didn’t take very many, cos for once i wasn’t hiding around the console.. hahaha

my long lost friends whom i haven’t partied with in a longgggg time.. Don & Shir

more party people!

clockwise : eka, valerie, rui zhou, bertrand, dwi and me!

and if you’re thinking eka and dwi look quite alike, well, they’re brothers! i think dwi is adorable btw… it was his first time at a club and he was shy beyond words really. took quite abit to get him moving…

come to think of it that’s the first night i spent in BUMP instead of FASH, and they have poles in BUMP! yes i tried it, it’s so much fun really! the next day was bad tho, i had slight bruises on my upper arm from too much pole-friction. but i think it was well worth the aches! was asking ben if i could learn pole dance, he’s like… NOOOOOOOOOO. but why? :(

anyway, Dwi again.

i don’t know how to describe it, he just has this cool kid face. it’s like taking a photo with some celebrity. haha! see, i told you there weren’t much photos.. see the rest of facebook!

HAPPY SUNDAY everyone! :)
