baby’s got physio at 8am… i hope his knee will be fine.
anyway, they finally inspected their “cupboards” in camp yesterday… their sergeant’s wanted to see their “motivational photos”. i printed a ton of photos for ben so he could pick which ones he wanted to put up… and i even wrote “notes” on some of them. well, there’s this one photo of him lifting me up, so i wrote a little note on it saying..
apparently his sergeant liked it, and said it was good. PHEW! i was hoping for that actually. lol yay! : )
as i mentioned yesterday, we’ll all be at SOCIAL HOUSE this saturday! and if he wasn’t kidding, a whole lot of his bunk and platoon mates should be coming too… oh no…
i think it’ll be funny tho. hahahaha! and i have to get new songs for baby too. and the first song he told me to get was…
i found the “dirty” version tho. pfffffttt. probably need to find a clean version just in case.
oh well, about time for bed. lots of errands to run later today. first stop, to return ben’s convo gown…

i totally zoned out after the convo yesterday… was struggling to keep my eyes open in the hall. felt crappy after in the car on the way to dinner and on the way home… when i got home i only managed to take a bath and a grab a quick bite before i KO-ed! when ben called from camp i was still in a half sleep state… lol! he sounded extremely chirpy tho…

okay, so ben has already left home for the expo and i’m bored shitless and falling asleep on his bed. in fact, to make things worse, i just took a cold tablet! oh boy… i think i need to snooze in the car.

it feels a tad weird being in his house without him around. lol but now i’m just worried andrew won’t wake up in time! anyway, this was my last bottlecap…

sunday came, and sunday has gone… and tomorrow morning, i get to see baby! i hope i can wake up early tho… he’s booking out around 7am, i bet i’ll still be sleeping like a log… but he can only book out for about 12 hours total, so every minute counts! i’m actually really craving a sausage egg mcmuffin from macs…
somehow things are always in our favour… tomorrow is not only ben’s convocation, it is also out 14th month together :)
i guess life isn’t as bad as we make it out to be sometimes…
not everyone is dealing with this as well as the both of us. it seems his bunk mate is getting all emo cos of girlfriend issues… i guess we girls get insecure at times, and we find all sorts of ways to try to make ourselves feel better, even if it’s at the expense of making our boys feel like crap? but i’ve gotten thru that kiddy part of life and i’m a big girl now!
random! this is the 2nd time i’ve worn this dress i think, and i’ve had it since last year. in fact, this was the very dress i wore the day i first met ben…
i remember i fell in love with this dress when i saw it in the shop window of Pull & Bear in taka… and i even “pre-ordered” it. so much for the excitement… lol. my fringe has grown out a fair bit too… now i have optional side-swept bangs. very long ones too… by the way, i got my green packet for hari raya today! from my eldest sister. she’s muslim btw, i don’t believe i have previously mentioned have i?
oh! remember little betsey from yesterday? this is how small she really is…
hahaha gosh my little finger is mighty odd… i’ll put little betsey up for sale soon, just let me admire her and be amused for a little while more… :)
anyway, lots to prepare for tomorrow so i won’t blog very much. need to repaint my nails and pack my bags for the big day! so excited, and i’m just so glad that i can be with ben at the many significant points in his life… :)

updating the website at 1am…
thinking bout my phone call with baby earlier…. he can’t come out until monday morning for convo… they won’t let them out on sunday evening… like why right? well, at least he’s getting treated for his injured knee… i hope it’s nothing serious tho.
i don’t quite know why girls cry so much when their bfs are in the army, or at least, that’s what i’ve heard… or is it just different cos of how we’re dealing with it? i mean, there’s practically nothing you can fight about when you only get to talk to each other once a day for 15 mins on average… even a minute of silence is comforting, we just know that we’re there for each other, even in dead silence. everyday, i feel as if we grow stronger, even tho we’re apart.
after a whole day of training, to know that all he wants is to end the day with a phone call… it’s enough for me. to hear him say he won’t be able to sleep until i tell him i love him, it’s more than enough. isn’t it?
on a lighter note, they’re going to the discovery centre today for a talk… oh well, looks like i have to wait till monday for my huggies. gonna go to bed soon…

managed to have 2 seperate phone calls with baby today… double calls make me a happy bunny! and i actually talked to his bunk mate too! i guess the guys are getting used to me cos ben talks to me everynight. and i randomly say hi to everyone when i’m talking to ben… they actually say hi back. hahaha funny bunch!
anyway, spent all day working on more new designs… did 5 new bottlecap designs, and ran out of bottlecaps in the process. still waiting for my new stock to arrive! i’m really excited about the new batch cos they don’t have the inner rubber linings to deal with… plus i got them in 3 colors! white, black and silver!
i started sewing abit again today… sewed a little blue bird that can be used either as a keyring or bag charm, and another one which i will put up soon enough! was looking at some jewellery online and i saw this really really pretty DIOR “oui” ring!
ps : oui means yes in french.
i told ben and ya, got scolded. AGAIN! he even said…
hmpffffff! but seriously the DIOR ring. omg. isn’t it gorgeous? i like classy rings, and this is definitely classy and quirky too! it’s like the perfect ring. imagine if a guy proposes with this ring, i mean obviously you’d have to say “oui”. and everytime you look at the ring you’ll remember the very moment u saw the ring and said “OUI!” sigh… i can only dream about this for now. which reminds me, i’m still waiting for the ring i custom ordered in the USA to arrive… i don’t think i’ve blogged much about that ring, but here’s what it looks like…
it’s just a simple sterling silver ring with “bamboopandalove” engraved on it… just to remind myself everyday of the love we have even tho we’re apart. i didn’t want ben to know i got the ring until it actually is physically here but well, being me, i couldn’t contain myself and told him during his first bookout. so since he already knows and i already got scolded, i can proudly announce my purchase! :) now i’m just worried if i got the size right. lol
one more day to decide what to wear to ben’s convocation. urgh crap… i think i’ll go lie in bed and think…

to be honest, it was embarrassing, and totally demoralising to watch this. but the person who put it together really did one hell of a job in capturing the worst of it. is this what Singapore has become? is this what our country is producing? I don’t know about you but, how would a foreigner communicate with someone like that, granted she’s studying hospitality and tourism?
how did the judges arrive at their decision? what made them pick someone who totally misrepresents all the values and morals we stand to believe in? i think even a primary school student would be able to speak better english. i don’t mean to judge her, but really, there are some things that just leave you with a big question mark… if you realise, the way she spoke on 2 seperate occassions was totally different… did she act like that on purpose? i wonder.

so i finally uploaded photos from my camera and.. okay, here’s one MAJOR reason why ben always nags when i shop… (especially when he’s stuck in camp)
there are 2 bags behind the rebecca taylor leopard tote, and there’s another bag inside the one sitting on the “ledge”…
and fyi, this is only like…. half of the bags i have in my room :|
i can’t help it. which is why i try not to go out too much when i’m ALONE. i become a totally impulsive shopper!
he asks me to pick up his convocation gown and invitation cards… i can’t do just that.
and that’s not all… remember the stash i mentioned on wednesday? i didn’t really total the cost, but if you did… you would have realised i actually spent a whopping $109 on MAGAZINES just to get the “FREE GIFTS”. come to think of it, they aren’t exactly free. hahaha!

and so, ben has “banned” me from shopping until his next “official” bookout, which means this weekend doesn’t count and i can only shop after next weekend.

ohgosh, has it only been two weeks? it sure feels like ages…
time seems to be flying alot quicker now, i mean, somehow i didn’t manage to get very much done today apart from customising a camera case for Leonie… and, remember the little miss marc earstuds i did last week? i did them in 2 smaller sizes!
i painted a tank top too, inspired by this tee by Karl Lagerfeld!
i’m probably gonna do like a whole little miss marc inspired “collection”… keyrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets anyone?
baby called twice today, much to my delight… but he had a bad day! oh well isn’t that all part and parcel of life, life ain’t complete without it’s ups and downs… can’t wait to give him a great big hug to make him feel better. he’s going to the medical centre tomorrow to get his knee checked out tho. sigh…
gonna finish packing up some orders and off to bed early tonight! (hopefully)

25th September Update : a couple of girls have emailed me asking for bag measurements so i’ve added them to the descriptions below. please note that whatever i’ve stated as measurements is what’s stated on the box :)
picked up ben’s convocation gown earlier today… i took a train to tiong bahru and was totally LOST when i stepped out of the station… i had no idea where the bus stop i was supposed to take the bus from was, and yup, ended taking a cab. sigh… only to realise that Delta House was just a little further down around the corner. what an idiot.
i had to fill in forms, and supposedly a survey which i gave up on. i had to call andrew to ask him what the postal code was, and later had to call his mum TWICE for more clarifications and “advice”… but i’m glad i finally got everything done! and oddly, that was my second time to delta house… and i still couldn’t remember my way out! it’s just confusing! i know the first time i came out the wrong exit so after standing there like an idiot for a bit, i went back in and came out the other side.. somehow it wasn’t the “right” side either. and guess what? instead of making my way back to tiong bahru station (cos i got lost, again) i ended up hopping on a bus and going galavanting in town!
was telling ben what i picked up in town, and he was “threatening” to “confiscate” some of the bags i have… i think i’m gonna get murdered when he gets out of camp… you probably won’t understand why until you’ve seen my room… maybe tomorrow… but meanwhile!

oh crapppp my nose has been cranky all day…
i really thought i was gonna be all okay today but i guess i was wrong… when i woke up my throat still hurt and my nose started acting up. it’s blocked, yet runny! how annoying, really.
spent the day packing orders and completing some orders from the weekend. sorry for the delays huns! busy weekend!
but that’s all done so more orders will be going out tomorrow. speaking of which, i have to go pick up ben’s convocation gown tomorrow… all the way at Alexandra Road! omigosh. it’s way far from my place :(
baby called earlier and said he had to be at expo by 12noon on monday. ohgosh. i hope i don’t have to go at 12 too cos that would mean i have to bring his gown over to his place by 10am? nooooooo. not exciting at all! but it’s either that or i have to bring the gown to meet him at pasir ris on sunday evening when he books out. no fun either. sigh.

baby came out feeling a bit sick but was better by sunday… so we went to SFX for evening mass, dinner at mac’s before heading to the prata house to catch the match between Man United and Man City! Gosh it was one crazy match… but the final score was 4-3! :D
That’s what happens when your boyfriend goes into the army… just to spend time together, you’ll go along with whatever he wants to do.. including watching soccer matches! It makes you treasure every second you have together… when he’s out of uniform; cos when he’s in uniform, he can’t touch you! oh well, “government rules”.
time flies so quickly when we’re together, but drags when we’re apart. isn’t that always the case?
in the car on the way to pasir ris…
on monday ben had to book in again, 640pm at pasir ris… so in the late afternoon we left early to have dinner with his parents and pop by the military supplies store to get some stuff he needed. that hour i spent just sitting there with him, it was when i understood how you could feel like crap even tho the person you love is right next to you… becos he was in uniform, i couldn’t even hold his hand, he couldn’t hug me or kiss me goodbye. and it was a sea of green… hundreds of others just like him, just waiting to be ferried back to for another grueling week of training and hot sun.
i did get to meet some of his friends tho, they’re a funny bunch.
it was really nice seeing who his new friends are!
well, it wasn’t exactly nice seeing him board the bus tho… but like what ben told me… “you have to learn to let go…” that’s something i have yet to learn i guess…
funny, immediately after he left, nic called! so i took a train down to town to chill for abit. by the time he was done with his Fabulous Tan and his late subway dinner it was already pretty late. he wanted to watch a movie but i wasn’t feeling like a movie cos of my cough and blocked/runny nose. and by the time we made it to taka from cine, the shops were already closed! boo! :(
…so home sweet home!

gosh i was so restless all day. kept looking at the clock wondering if it was time to get dressed. before hopping on an extremely long bus ride to pasir ris i decided i was going to get ben a new phone. so i did! i was totally in between the nokia 1661 and the nokia 5030; i got the 5030 in the end, for the mere fact that it’s a newer model. hahaha oh well, it’s still just a phone right?
buying the phone put me a little off schedule, so i missed seeing his new friends… :( but i guess there are many opportunities to meet them!
look how tan he has gotten! as if he wasn’t already… come to think of it he looks more burnt than tan… hahaha! that’s like what 10 shades darker than me? or more! and it’s only been 9 days. imagine what he’d look like after 13 weeks of BMT!
while we were in the car, i sneakily pulled out the phone and asked him ever so unsuspectingly to “help me open”… so he took it and went silent. hahaha! i just love it when i get him like that. it’s so fun. but then again, everyone appreciates surprise gifts once in a while right? (i know i do… *cough*)
anyways, we had dinner with his parents at punggol nasi lemak before heading back to his place to listen to more army stories!
on a separate note, our dear friends, DJ Edo and Jess tied the knot down under! We’re so happy for them! And guys, this photo is for you!
again, Congratulations to Edo and Jess, it’s a pity we had to miss your wedding!
