it’s really amazing what you can find on ebay sometimes…

2 days ago i bought this pair of sneakers off ebay without telling ben. well, i did tell him about it… but when i actually bought it, i didn’t tell him! so he’ll probably kill me when he sees this post…

cost me USD$49.90 for the sneakers alone. here comes the OUCH FACTOR. the shipping cost me another USD$29.99… 

it sucks cos ben managed to get his for reallllly cheap cos the sneakers were already in singapore. grrrrrrrrr.

but but i’m glad i finally managed to get at least one of the many pairs of sneakers that i was eyeing. i give up on FINISHLINE.com! cos they refuse to ship international, i thought i’d ship to a friend in the US and get her to ship it to me, but guess what? THEY DON’T EVEN TAKE NON-USA issued credit cards! so now i have like over $400 of “pending transactions” waiting to be dropped back into my bank account.

but then again, the shipping is another USD$9.99… but it still comes up to just over S$30? for a HARAJUKU LOVERS tote, i say not bad at all! now i just can’t wait to get my paws on all my stuff… i’m still waiting for my pvc leggings to arrive! i got a total of  pairs of the same thing!

3 days ago was the 14th of february…

Valentine’s Day.

a day when couples get all lovey dovey, when guys are wrecking their heads over what to get their girlfriends and trying to get a decent flower bouquet, planning a nice romantic dinner without making too big a hole in their pockets.

But why?

Over the years, Valentine’s Day has become no more than a “Hallmark holiday”.

…do people really understand the significance behind Valentine’s Day, other than the fact that it is a celebration of love? Its existence has been abused by businesses, an opportunity to suck every cent out of your pockets. $10 for one stalk of rose? to be honest, it’s really ridiculous and hardly worth it.

Why wait until Valentine’s to buy her a rose? If every girl expects to get flowers and chocolates on that day, where’s the element of surprise? It becomes a ritual rather than a celebration. You can buy her a rose any other day, when she least expects it. She’d appreciate it a lot more than when everyone walking around is holding an identical bouquet, no?

which is why till now, i believe every day should be Valentine’s Day, cos you don’t need a reason and a particular date to celebrate LOVE.

Ben and I spent half of Valentine’s at home.

Well, i did get a bit mischievous. Knowing he had gone out to get lunch, i planned and schemed to sneak into his house to surprise him…

i waited for over 20 mins for him to get home… it was the most nerve-wrecking wait ever!

when i heard him coming thru the gate i swear my heart rate tripled. i scampered to hide behind his door preparing to jump out at him… when he walked into the room and saw the stuff on the bed i jumped out at him.

the look on his face was priceless really.

thats us with the pillow i sewed for him, and the sock monkey too! : )

later, we had dinner at one of our favourite places, Popeye’s! before heading down to OverEasy at One Fullerton to meet our friends… no crazy candlelight dinner, no 99 rose bouquets, just a simple day together… cos i’m a no fuss girl!

every cigarette is doing you damage

i don’t know about you, but if this doesn’t convince a smoker to quit, i really don’t know what will.

listen carefully to the statistics. horrible, smoking related diseases are attacking smokers who are only in their 30s! if you ask me, i’d say that’s just about where life really begins. 

and this next video is specifically for the boys… smoking damages your sex life.

and it is also a known fact that,

every time you light up, just one cigarette alone takes away 11 minutes of your life span.

if you are one who knows how precious even one second is, imagine how losing a few years would be like.

does that make smoking a sin? i reckon that might be a possibility, cos if you see it how i see it, we’d be committing a very slow suicide, and taking away years from the life God gave us… so if ending your life on your own accord is considered a sin, i’d say smoking is too.

 

…the question here is, with the knowledge of the definite damage that smoking can and WILL do, why do people still do it?

if you treasure your life, this is one video i would highly recommend. it is a video compiled by Allen Carr, the biggest anti-smoking guru in the world as named by BBC.

no doubt, it’s gonna stick a knife in your chest, but it also helps smokers see the reality of what they are in for…

there’s tons of videos online that want to help you to quit, but you have to open your mind enough to accept that help.
